WHAT PUBLICATION REVIEW MEANS
A disciplined review of public facts, sources, status, and presentation.
Publication review is the process used to decide whether information is suitable for public presentation and how its status should be described. It considers where information came from, whether it has been approved, whether it is current, and whether readers can understand its limits.
The process supports clarity and accountability. It does not transform ProfileMD into a regulator, credentialing body, healthcare provider, or evaluator of clinical performance.
SOURCE HIERARCHY
Not all sources carry the same authority.
ProfileMD applies source context visibly and does not present every public reference as physician-approved information.
Official public professional sources
Regulatory records, institutional directories, and other authoritative public sources may support factual professional details when their origin and limitations are understood.
Identified clinic and practice sources
Official clinic websites and approved public materials may support location, contact, service, and access information, subject to review for currency and consistency.
Clearly labelled demonstration content
Fictional examples may be used to explain a format or capability. They must be unmistakably labelled, unavailable for booking, and excluded from search indexing.
STATUS VOCABULARY
Publication status should tell readers what is known.
A status describes the state of the information. It is not a rating of the physician, clinic, or care provided.
The physician, clinic, or authorized representative has reviewed or supplied the published information.
Professional information is based on identified public sources and is awaiting physician or clinic approval.
The profile is an illustrative example, not a real physician profile and not an access point for care.
A material question, correction request, or approval step is being resolved before the status is updated.
PUBLICATION LIFECYCLE
Governance continues after a page is published.
Publication is a maintained state, not a one-time assertion. Material changes can require renewed review, relabelling, correction, or removal.

Presents patient-facing public information and preparation resources within the standards established by the institution.

Explains professional services and supports physician or clinic participation, onboarding, and profile stewardship.
Physicians and clinics
Remain responsible for approving their information, identifying changes, and authorizing the public destinations associated with their practice.
Clinic-approved systems
Own and operate secure booking, forms, messaging, and clinical workflows, including privacy, access, routing, and monitoring responsibilities.
PUBLIC LINKS AND SECURE DESTINATIONS
A visible button does not transfer clinical responsibility to ProfileMD.
A profile may link to a clinic-approved booking page, secure form, messaging service, or other authorized destination. Before publication, the destination should be identified, approved by the responsible physician or clinic, and described accurately.
Once a person follows that link, the destination provider and the clinic govern the secure workflow, including privacy notices, consent, access controls, routing, monitoring, and clinical follow-up. ProfileMD public pages do not collect, store, or review patient medical information.
Public-front-door boundary ProfileMD can help a person recognize the appropriate official pathway. It does not become the clinical pathway itself.
CORRECTIONS, REVIEW, AND REMOVAL
Published information must remain open to accountable correction.
Physicians, clinics, authorized representatives, and members of the public may identify a possible factual issue. Requests are assessed against the available source record and, where appropriate, confirmed with the responsible physician or clinic.
Material inaccuracies may be corrected, temporarily relabelled, withheld, noindexed, or removed while they are reviewed. A request to change clinical or professional information is not treated as a public dispute or review.
