SUPPORT DIRECTORY

Begin with the responsibility involved.

Choosing the right pathway helps protect the institutional, professional, and clinical boundaries across the ProfileMD ecosystem.

STEWARDSHIP PRINCIPLES

Support should be careful, proportionate, and accountable.

Public-information support works best when the request is specific, the source and authority are understood, and future ownership is clear.

01

Minimum necessary information

A support request should contain only the public page, professional context, and factual change needed to understand the issue.

02

Authority and source awareness

Material changes may require confirmation from the physician, clinic, authorized representative, or an appropriate public source.

03

Visible resolution

A correction may result in an update, status change, temporary review label, noindex decision, or removal when warranted.

04

Maintained stewardship

Support continues after publication through corrections, link review, approval changes, and accountable maintenance ownership.

SUPPORT SCOPE AND LIMITS

Clear support begins with clear exclusions.

ProfileMD cannot receive or forward a patient-care request. Care-specific communication must use the physician or clinic's official channel.

PROFILEMD CAN REVIEW

  • Public profile facts and professional information
  • Publication status, source context, and approval questions
  • Outdated clinic details and public-link concerns
  • Correction, review, noindex, or removal requests
  • Privacy questions related to ProfileMD public information
  • Institutional standards and responsibility questions

NOT A PROFILEMD SUPPORT FUNCTION

  • Appointments, referrals, prescriptions, or test results
  • Symptoms, diagnoses, treatment, or medical advice
  • Clinical messages or documents for a physician or clinic
  • Emergency or urgent healthcare communication
  • Access to clinic-owned systems or patient records
  • Guaranteed completion times or clinical follow-up

SUPPORT LIFECYCLE

A correction pathway should lead to accountable ownership.

Resolution is not limited to changing text. It may require clarification of status, authority, destination ownership, or future maintenance responsibility.

  1. 01

    Identify

Provide the public ProfileMD page or institutional matter involved and describe the issue without patient medical information.

  2. 02

    Classify

Determine whether the request concerns a correction, approval, privacy matter, public destination, professional service, or another responsibility.

  3. 03

    Confirm

Review the available source, authority, and material context, requesting clarification only when necessary.

  4. 04

    Resolve

Correct, relabel, route, withhold, noindex, or remove information according to the applicable publication standard.

  5. 05

    Record ownership

Confirm who remains responsible for future updates, public-link authorization, and ongoing maintenance.

CORRECTION GUIDANCE

Provide the public issue, not private medical information.

A focused correction request helps ProfileMD understand the public-information issue while reducing unnecessary collection of personal or confidential information.

PUBLIC DESTINATION SUPPORT

A public link requires a responsible owner.

ProfileMD may review whether a public destination is identified accurately, approved by the responsible physician or clinic, and presented with appropriate status and limitations.

The clinic and destination provider remain responsible for privacy, consent, access, submission routing, monitoring, and follow-up. ProfileMD does not become the operator of a clinic-owned workflow by publishing a link to it.

PATIENT AND CARE INQUIRIES

Contact the physician or clinic directly.

Do not send symptoms, medical questions, appointment reasons, test results, documents, or other personal health information to ProfileMD support.

For a medical emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department.
