Make the public layer around healthcare more useful, trustworthy, and human.

Important healthcare journeys often begin before a clinic is contacted. People search for a physician, try to understand a practice, organize for a visit, and decide which official channel to use next.

Yet public information is frequently fragmented, outdated, shaped by anonymous opinion, or disconnected from the practical realities of care. ProfileMD exists to improve that layer: not by providing healthcare, but by making appropriate public information clearer and its boundaries more visible.

Better information cannot replace care. It can help care begin with greater clarity.

HOW PROFILEMD BEGAN

One pilot revealed the need for a clearer ecosystem.

ProfileMD.Health began as the original pilot: one place exploring physician profiles, patient preparation, public resources, and the boundary to secure clinical workflows.

The pilot asked a practical question: could public physician information be more factual, useful, and physician-controlled without becoming a review marketplace or a public clinical intake system?

As the concept matured, a single mixed platform was no longer enough. Patients and caregivers needed a calm, public-facing experience. Physicians and clinics needed a distinct professional service. ProfileMD.Health could then become what the broader initiative required: an institutional home for the mission, standards, history, and long-term direction of ProfileMD.

ProfileMD was founded by Dr. Eduardo Jacques, a Canadian family physician, after repeatedly seeing patients arrive with important questions but incomplete context, scattered information, and uncertainty about the appropriate next step.

That perspective shapes the institution’s central belief: technology should reduce confusion, respect professional accountability, and support better preparation without crossing into diagnosis, treatment, or public collection of medical information.
